As I tend to commission stuff from time to time as Mega Audino gets barely anything, I wanted to make an overall reference page not just for that, but to also help dispel some of misinformation about Mega Audino’s design. Obviously, artistic style and expression are a thing and there are plenty of people who want to draw things a certain way because they think it looks neat even if it may not be 100% accurate and that’s fine! This is solely for those who want to get Mega Audino more accurate as there is barely any official stuff for reference purposes without really searching or doing some frame-by-frame stuff in the anime.
Before we get to the images, here is a quick text list of things I see people often not realizing:
- Mega Audino’s Feelers – The Ear feelers curl inward. The feelers on its chest below the big puff can be pulled out the same way the ear feelers for both Audino and Mega Audino can be pulled out. When not being held, they go back to normal. One isn’t longer than the other nor does it just hang there if it’s not being held. Similarly, either one can be pulled– not just its right one. Mega Audino generally seems to pull at its chest feelers like a stethoscope over its ear feelers like Audino one.
- Mega Audino’s eyes are made up of two different shades of pink– a hot pink for the upper part (and about 2/3rds of the eye) and a light pink for the lower part. Inside the eyes are three white dots– the bigger one being the highest one for their “pupils”, the smallest towards the middle, and a medium sized one towards the bottom. The sparkles are always in the same spots– they’re not mirrored between the two eyes.
- Mega Audino’s main body color is white with warm pink tones (The shading on the white seems to always be done with a dusty pink) and pink accents alongside various creamish yellow/vanilla parts. Mega Audino’s “cloak-esque” part is not solely white– there pink accents are at the tips of its ears and bottom. Similarly, Mega Audino isn’t completely light pink, though, with the pink undertones certain lighting may look that way, but it should still have darker pinks for those usual pink accents with it.
- Mega Audino’s pink accents are two different shades of pink. I’ve seen both gradient and non-gradient versions be done so while I’ve seen the latter more often nowadays, I believe either one is correct.
- The underside of Mega Audino’s “cloak”/”skirt” is pink– it’s actually the same color as its footprint color.
- The cloak starts parting from under the feelers– not directly from the big puff.<
- The lighter pink accent starts from the end of the of second curve of the cloak while the darker pink accent finished the tip. Similarly, the pink accents take up the entire top part of the ear.
- The puff on Mega Audino’s chest is the same size as Audino’s tail. Mega Audino’s tail is much bigger. The cloak goes around the tail– the tail isn’t coming out of the cloak. Similarly, while the puff follows Audino’s tail and curls counter-clockwise, Mega Audino’s tail curls clockwise instead.
- The ends of Mega Audino’s “sleeves” and the start of the “boots” both have a v indent. Their boots also feature little wings on the outside of each.
- While Mega Audino and Audino share their pawprint shape (It’s a heart!), Mega Audino’s is flipped vertically so the heart is right-side up when it’s foot is held up from the front and upside down when held up from the back.
- As mentioned in the trivia section, Mega Audino and Audino are the same height! The additional height solely comes from Mega Audino’s ears flipping up. That said, the ear sizes for Mega Audino have frequently been drawn all over the place so I guess the ear size can vary.
- Mega Audino’s official Pantone colors are White for the Body, Tail, Chest Feelers, Feet, and Eye highlights, 700C for the Underside of the Cloak and Footprint, 9141C for the Body, Outer Ears, and Ear Feelers, 9286C for the lighter pink accents for the ears and cloak, 7422C for the darker pink accents for the ears and cloak, 198C for the upper eye color and 189C for the lower eye color.
